GMO hires Sarah Jang to set up first US office

JAPAN— GMO Research and its subsidiary GMO Japan Market Intelligence (GMO Research/JMI) have appointed Sarah Jang as a senior business development director for North America as the company prepares for its expansion in the region.

Jang joins from having run AIP Corporation’s sales activities in the US and will be responsible for supporting the set-up of the first GMO Research/JMI office in the US, which will be based in the West Coast and will open later this year.

It follows GMO Research/JMI’s establishment of a European office in the UK earlier this year. The company says the initial aim of expanding GMO Research/JMI’s overseas presence is to enhance communications and services to international clients seeking to carry out research in Asia.

Jang has already officially joined GMO Research/JMI, and will remain at its Tokyo headquarters until the end of August. North American time zones will be fully covered from September.
