GfK launches telecoms pricing tool

GERMANY – Market research company GfK has partnered with software firm Stickee to develop a daily pricing monitor for the telecoms sector.

The automated data collection, monitoring and analysis tool covers 200 retailers in 25 countries, offering price data on models in the Postpay, pay-as-you-go, sim-free, sim-only and service segments.

Pricing information, sourced from websites, is uploaded to the online platform twice daily and new retailers and markets can be added.

Anthony Norman, vice-president, UK and Nordics GfK, said: “Now, telecom players can take decisions on promotions and propositions, respond to competitor activity and support their partner discussions with always-on data.”

Iain Brear, chief executive at Stickee, added: “The standardised and scaled benchmarking enables telecom players to make decisions fast.”
