GfK and DAT partner on vehicle data

GERMANY — Deutsche Automobil Treuhand (DAT) and market research company GfK have announced a deal to create new products in the automotive industry for dealerships, manufacturers, importers and car buyers.

The cooperation will mean the two market research companies can offer vehicle data over the entire life cycle of a vehicle. The data will include vehicle information prior to launch, configuration of new vehicles, valuations for used cars, repair cost calculations, and data on vehicle recycling.

Dr. Gerhard Hausruckinger (pictured), member of GfK’s management board and COO, said: “GfK can now provide its extensive data in the new vehicle market as a product solution to various stakeholders in the automotive market. Together, we can offer dealers, manufacturers, fleet managers, banks and insurance companies extensive data and services regarding new and used vehicles.”

The partnership will initially cover four fields: new cars, used cars, the fleet business and after-sales retail.
