Launched in 2013, Australian visual communications platform Canva offers an online design tool that allows users to create visual materials such as social media posts and presentations.

The business is headquartered in Sydney, with offices in the US, UK, New Zealand, Austria, Czech Republic, China and the Philippines.

Steadman, who has relocated from London, has spent the last two years at Access Intelligence, the owner of social media insights platform Pulsar, monitoring businesses Isentia and Vuelio, and public relations and journalist network ResponseSource.

Prior to Access Intelligence, he was customer insight lead at online food delivery company Deliveroo, and previously spent seven years at Twitter, latterly as senior director, insight and analytics.

Steadman is also on the main board of the Market Research Society and chairs the MRS data analytics council.

Steadman said: “As a researcher, creative and data-led storytelling is the best way I know to make sure the work I do has the impact it should have – so I couldn't be more excited to be joining Canva, a world-class company pioneering the visual communication space.

“We're on a huge mission to empower the world to design and I'm excited to be part of building a future of creative storytelling and communication that the whole marketing, research and insights industry will benefit from.”
