Finnemore leaves Royal Mail after 12 years

UK — Giles Finnemore, senior media and customer insight manager at Royal Mail, has left the company after 12 years.

Finnemore began his career with the postal service as head of market strategy and market research before becoming head of marketing and address management.

In March 2010 he became senior marketing manager for Royal Mail’s mobile phone recycling service SimplyDrop and then moved over to the Mail Media Centre as senior media and customer insight manager.

Most recently he co-led the Royal Mail, Parcelforce and MarketReach roster review process, trimming the number of agencies from 33 to nine, who between them will share an estimated annual spend of £5m.

Finnemore said he had no firm plans yet for the future, but had some freelance work lined up and a holiday planned.

He remains a director of Aura, the association of clientside research and insight executives, and will be leading a membership recruitment drive in the New Year.

Matt Bright, the media insight manager for MarketReach, takes over Finnemore’s responsibilities at Royal Mail.
