Facebook snaps up Android app analytics firm
Little Eye collates data that lets developers monitor their app’s consumption of system resources, such as power, wireless data, GPS, disk space and memory.
Following the acquisition, Little Eye’s Bangalore-based team will relocate to Facebook’s California headquarters.
“For us, this is an opportunity to make an impact on the more than 1 billion people who use Facebook,” the company said in a blog post. “With this acquisition, Little Eye Labs will join forces with Facebook to take its mobile development to the next level. This is Facebook’s first acquisition of an Indian company, and we are happy to become part of such an incredible team.”
Little Eye says “current customers… will receive further information on plans to offer a free version of Little Eye until 30 June 2014”.
