US— More big moves in the social Q&A space: Facebook has acquired application developer Friend.ly.
Friend.ly has built an app for the social networking site that allows users to create and ask questions of their friends
Its 10 members of staff will now concentrate on working on new projects at Facebook, although Friend.ly will continue to operate as a separate service.
The firm said: “We’re excited about this because we feel the spirit of Friend.ly aligns well with Facebook’s vision, and we’re thrilled to be joining such an innovative company.”
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Yesterday we reported on the launch of mobile Q&A app Wayin by former Sun Microsystems’ co-founder Scott McNealy.
