Ex-Turner CEO joins Comscore board
Martin oversaw Turner’s portfolio, including CNN, TBS, TNT and Turner Sports, until he left the company in 2018 after AT&T completed its acquisition of Time Warner.
Prior to Turner, Martin was chief financial and administrative officer of Time Warner.
At Comscore, Martin has taken up the role of chairman of the board’s finance committee. The appointment comes after Comscore recorded a net loss of $27.5m in the first quarter of the year and began a strategic review of its customer relationships, products and organisational structure.
Former chief executive Bryan Wiener and president Sarah Hofstetter left the business in April, both after less than a year in the role.
Brent Rosenthal, chairman of the board, said: "John’s experience will be immensely valuable to our company as we seek to expand cross-platform in all of our market segments."
Martin replaces former GroupM Worldwide chief digital officer Rob Norman, who stepped down from the board on 22nd May. Norman will become a strategic consultant for the board and company.
