US— Former Survey Sampling International (SSI) boss Jim Follett has joined rival Authentic Response as chief executive.
The appointment comes nine months after his departure from SSI where he spent two years following a stint as chief operating officer of NOP World (now part of GfK).
Follett replaces Matt Blumberg at Authentic Response. Blumberg has led the business in an interim capacity since its spin-out from email marketing company Return Path in 2008. He retains the role of chairman and is chairman and CEO of Return Path.
The arrival of Follett coincides with the closing of a Series A investment in Authentic Response, led by Sutter Hill Ventures. Terms were not disclosed.
Blumberg said: “The board is very pleased to have Jim join Authentic Response. Jim’s management experience in the global market information services industry coupled with the capital infusion from Sutter Hill Ventures will enable Authentic Response to more aggressively pursue its growth path as an independent and emerging player in the global online panels and market research market.”
