easyJet data scientist joins Just Eat

UK – Takeaway food delivery company Just Eat has appointed easyJet’s Alberto Rey Villaverde as chief data officer.

Villaverde has been with the airline since 2006, and in 2015 was appointed as head of data science and yield, responsible for boosting the company’s use of artificial intelligence to boost efficiency in areas such as flight schedules and fleet reliability.

In his new role, he will be responsible for Just Eat’s analytics and business insights and data science teams, covering business information, management information and reporting, artificial intelligence, algorithmic development and machine learning. 

He joins the company on 11th March.

Peter Duffy, interim chief executive officer at Just Eat, said: "Alberto’s expertise will help to position Just Eat as the market leader in data and analytics, as we further personalise our service and deliver our vision of ‘Serving the World’s Greatest Menu'."
