UK— Maggie Drye, the founder of Insitas, is moving her consumer research agency into offices recently vacated by her former business Buckingham Research.

Insitas relocates to the premises in Cookham, Berkshire next week – 10 years after Drye first moved in with Buckingham.

Buckingham is now owned by the Optimisa group and was recently merged with sister agencies Quaestor and Andrew Irving Associates. As part of the merger the three businesses – now trading as Optimisa Research – moved into shared offices in London and Leeds.

Drye launched Buckingham in 1988, sold it in a £6.7m cash-and-share deal in 2002 and officially retired from the business in 2005. In 2008 she set up Insitas in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Speaking about next week’s relocation, Drye said: “I had a lot of success in the Cookham office. I knew that Buckingham Research was moving out in April, so I wanted to go back there.”

On a pre-move visit Drye noticed that her old desk was still there. But though she’ll be sitting in the same place she occupied all those years ago, the desk won’t be. “Two other MDs have sat there since I left,” she said. “I decided I needed a new desk. It’s a fresh start.”
