US – Media evaluation firm Comscore has created a cross-screen measurement tool for the film industry that will report on box office takings across different video and movie platforms.
‘Comscore Movies Everywhere’ offers daily reporting across box office, transactional on demand video, over-the-top rentals and streaming views, and brings together the firm’s census-based box office and transactional video measurement work.
The tool will also analyse a film’s performance according to demographics, audience sentiment and consumer behaviour.
The release of ‘Movies Everywhere’ follows the rise in streaming platforms such as Disney+ and Netflix and the closure of many cinemas during Covid-19 restrictions.
Bill Livek, chief executive of Comscore, said: “We look forward to continue to set new measurement standards that harnesses our decades of unmatched box office and transactional video information.”
