SOUTH AFRICA— Online research agency Columinate has appointed its founder Henk Pretorius to the newly created position of chief executive officer.

Pretorius (pictured) founded the firm in 2008 with Elna Smit and the duo have co-managed it since. However, following increases in both turnover and staff numbers, the company decided to appoint a CEO.

His career includes a spell as methodologist at Ask Africa and lecturing in both social and quantitative research.

Pretorius said: “Providing strategic direction during our current rapid growth while maintaining our boutique and agile service delivery will be my main focus. Another key objective is to retain our reputation for relevant innovation. This remains paramount to the business to ensure we continuously meet our clients’ needs in better, faster and more cost-effective ways.”
