US – Shopper intelligence firm Catalina has named Wayne Powers as its new president and chief executive officer, taking over from Jerry Sokol Jr.
Sokol is stepping down but will continue to work as a strategic advisor for the company.
Powers (pictured) was previously president of intelligent media delivery firm, Valassis. His experience covers media, marketing and global operations, with a track record of implementing operational improvement programmes.
Powers said: “I was drawn to Catalina by its talented team and highly personalised marketing solutions that help retailers and brands maximise their engagement with target consumers. We will continue Catalina’s global focus on transformation through innovation to launch differentiated cross-channel products.”
Gene Davis, chairman of Catalina’s board of directors, added: “Under Jerry’s leadership, Catalina has strengthened its leadership team, completed a comprehensive financial restructuring that significantly enhanced the company’s financial profile by reducing debt by 85%, and accelerated investments in areas critical to the digital marketing ecosystem. We are confident Wayne and the team will accelerate Catalina’s growth.”
