Broomé joins NatCen as families director
Before joining NatCen, Broomé (pictured) was chief executive at Coram Family and Childcare, having initially joined as its director of programmes and external affairs. She has more than ten years of experience in service delivery, policy, communications and public affairs, including positions at The Children’s Society, The National Autistic Society, Hill & Knowlton and in Parliament.
NatCen’s chief executive, Guy Goodwin, said: “We have exciting plans to launch a Centre for Children and Families next year. Ellen’s arrival is a first step towards us making a wider contribution to the understanding of key contemporary issues for children and families. We are delighted to have attracted someone of Ellen’s calibre and policy and public affairs expertise to lead this important part of NatCen’s work.”
Broomé added: “NatCen has a track record of world class research in this field. At a time of significant challenges for children and families, I am delighted to be leading the Centre to increase its impact and reach, and support policy makers and practitioners by identifying evidence-based interventions that improve children’s outcomes.”
