UK— The South Downs National Park has appointed consultancy BritainThinks to run a stakeholder engagement programme over the next 15 months.
The firm, which was formed last year by Opinion Leader co-founders Viki Cooke and Deborah Mattinson, will host a deliberative forum in mid-July with 250 stakeholders who have signed up to be part of an online community. BritainThinks will then look to recruit more members to the community after the live event.
The community will act as a two-way platform for local stakeholders to raise concerns about the park and for the organisation to put ideas forward. The topics discussed will be the South Downs National Park’s two purposes: to conserve and enhance the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the area and to promote opportunities for the understanding and enjoyment of the park by the public.
Viki Cooke (pictured) said: “This is a great win – it allows us to demonstrate how effective a combination of live deliberative events and inspiring, engaging digital can be.”
