Brandtone closes third round of funding with €14m investment
The Dublin-based mobile marketing company will further extend its global reach, having recently opened offices in New York and Jakarta. It received €4m of investment from Syngenta Ventures and further investment from Unilever Ventures and Verlinvest.
Donald Fitzmaurice, founder and CEO, of Brandtone, said: “Brandtone’s success to date has been underpinned by committed support from Unilever and Verlinvest, and we are delighted to welcome Syngenta on board.
“Mobile offers a way for our clients to engage responsibly and sustainably with consumers in the fastest growing markets and, together with Syngenta, we are excited about exploring the possibilities this offers in the agricultural sector.”
Brandtone recruits consumers to interact with brand advertisers via their mobile phones. Consumers are offered incentives in exchange for sharing information about themselves or completing certain marketing actions.
Unilever works with Brandtone in several developing markets, including South Africa, Brazil and Kenya. Research company TNS also has an arrangement with Brandtone to field surveys to Brandtone’s database.
