Barb upgrades its API

The new version offers faster response times and includes new programme and spot reach endpoints.
It also integrates with the Barb Data Hub as its foundational data source. The API operates within the Barb Data Hub and pulls all data from it.
Barb first launched its API in 2023 to offer clients more flexibility in how they access viewing data. The upgrade is part of Barb’s aims to make its data more accessible.
RSMB was commissioned by Barb to develop API 3.0, and the work began in January of this year.
Khaled El Serafy, director of data and technology, Barb, said: “Version three of the Barb API is an important element of Barb’s data distribution strategy. Our aim is to make Barb data more accessible, offering the industry choice in how Barb data can be ingested quickly, reliably, and in a ready-to-use format. We will continue to work to update the API based on our users’ feedback, along with exploring cloud data shares and agentic AI as parallel future-focused data distribution systems.”
