Attwood made Nielsen non-exec chairman
Attwood (pictured) who was previously the board’s lead independent director succeeds David Calhoun who has served as executive chairman of the board since 2014.
Attwood is managing director of The Carlyle Group and head of the Global Telecommunications and Media group based in New York. In 2014 he began to direct Carlyle’s investment activity in the Technology sector as well, and the group was renamed the Global Telecommunications, Media and Technology (TMT) group.
Calhoun will continue to sit as a director on its board.
