Ascential acquires analytics firm Clavis Insight

IRELAND & US – B2B media company Ascential has acquired e-commerce analytics company Clavis Insight. 

Founded by Garry Moroney and headquartered in Dublin, Clavis Insight employs around 170 people, with clients including consumer goods firms Procter & Gamble, Nestlé, Unilever and L’Oréal. The company has developed a framework, 6Ps eCommerce Intelligence, to organise and prioritise e-commerce analytics.

Ascential, whose brands include Cannes Lions and WGSN, will integrate Clavis Insight into its information services division alongside insights company One Click Retail, a business it acquired in 2016. The move will boost Ascential’s e-commerce analytics offer, creating a global e-commerce insights platform for retail brands and manufacturers.

Clavis Insight’s staff, including its management team, will join Ascential.

Duncan Painter, chief executive officer of Ascential plc, said: “Clavis and One Click Retail are both high-growth, globally scalable businesses and we look forward to creating a new, accurate, comprehensive and actionable product, which is greater than the sum of its parts.”
