Accenture to lead business intelligence for Siemens
As part of the deal, Accenture’s services will develop and support Siemens’ data analytics and business intelligence infrastructure and develop new analytics services for the company.
Accenture will also establish automated approaches to basic data analytics and business intelligence tasks.
A group of Siemens employees responsible for data analytics and business intelligence within its corporate IT group will join Accenture as part of the contract.
Helmuth Ludwig, chief information officer at Siemens, said: “We’ve selected Accenture because of the firm’s renowned excellence in data analytics and business intelligence, its global delivery capability, and our longstanding, collaborative working relationship.”
Patrick Vollmer, a managing director at Accenture who leads its industrial equipment business in Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Russia, said taking on Siemens’ business intelligence team would bring “deep industry skills and insights” to “further strengthen our own BI capabilities”.
