US— Tech industry analyst The 451 Group has bought ChangeWave Research from its parent company InvestorPlace Media.
ChangeWave specialises in tracking changes to consumer spending behaviour, corporate IT purchasing demand and industry trends within the technology sector.
The firm carries out weekly surveys on a panel of 25,000 technology professionals and early-adopter consumers focusing on the software, hardware, telecom, energy, healthcare and retail sectors.
451 Group CEO Martin McCarthy said: “The addition of ChangeWave Research to The 451 Group’s portfolio of companies dramatically enhances our ability to provide clients with key proprietary survey data and statistically significant insight.”
ChangeWave will become a division within The 451 Group and continue to be led by its founder, Paul Carton. He said: “The 451 Group’s reputation for independent insight and their focus on the business of IT innovation is a perfect fit for ChangeWave.”
The 451 Group recently bought TheInfoPro, a survey research and advisory firm focused on the IT market.
