Thatcham Research appoints CEO
Hewitt (pictured) joins from Octo Telematics, provider of insurance telematics and data analytics for auto insurance industry, where he was global chief marketing officer. He has also held various senior leadership roles in the UK and internationally, across automotive, insurance and finance sectors including working at companies such as AIG, Dixons, Sainsbury’s Bank and Barclays.
He joins Thatcham Research at a time of transition for the automotive industry as it deals with many things including connectivity and automated driving. Hewitt will lead and evolve its strategy to help its insurer members with vehicle safety, repair and security.
Thatcham Research carries out crash and track research and has administered the Association of British Insurer’s (ABI) Group Rating system for the past 50 years – giving insurers the relative risk of private and light commercial vehicles.
Graham Gibson, chairman of Thatcham Research, said: “In a period when cars will change out of all recognition, Jonathan brings considerable knowledge and experience, combined with great leadership skills.”
