JAPAN— Former MTV ad sales man Daizo Nishitani has joined web measurement firm ComScore as vice president of sales for Japan.

He joins the company from Viacom Brand Solutions International, where he was a senior account director working across the company’s major media outlets, including MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon.

Before Viacom, Nishitani was a manager with Walt Disney Television International, again developing and managing advertising relationships with company’s including Tomy, Takara, Honda, McDonald’s and Coca-Cola. He began his career as a media coordinator at Dentsu.

Will Hodgman (pictured), ComScore’s executive vice president for Asia Pacific, said: “We are excited to have Daizo lead ComScore’s business development efforts in Japan and are eager to utilise his media industry experience to expand our footprint in the market.”

Nishitani’s arrival at the company follows the departure of Maru Sato, the former managing director of AOL Japan, who joined ComScore Japan as MD in June 2007.
