FRANCE – Wavemaker, the media, content and technology agency formed from WPP’s merger of MEC and Maxus, has appointed Josep Hernandez as global managing director for client L’Oréal.
Hernandez (pictured) joins the company from Mondelēz International, where he has held the role of senior director of global media strategy and communications planning since 2012. He was responsible for the company’s media ROI strategy and the media implementation of Ehrenberg-Bass’ Laws of Growth.
Hernandez previously spent 15 years in leadership roles for WPP companies including Wunderman, Y&R and Ogilvy.
In his new role, he will lead Wavemaker’s relationship with its global L’Oréal clients based in France, reporting to the agency’s global chief client officer Aaron Smith.
Smith said: “With more than 20 years’ experience in media strategy, brand planning, insights and digital transformation across agencies and advertisers, Josep brings all the seniority and expertise we need to deliver for our largest global client.”
