WholeSum closes pre-seed funding

The pre-seed funding includes new investment from Love Ventures, Beamline and angel investors, following the $965,000 raise led by Twin Path Ventures announced earlier this year.
WholeSum is a hybrid AI and statistical inference platform that converts free-text data into insight.
Emily Kucharski and Adam Kucharski founded WholeSum as a result of their frustration with existing AI tools while analysing large-scale qualitative datasets for a previous venture they founded – a parenting app.
To date, the company has worked with universities and clients in regulated environments, financial institutions and pharmaceutical businesses, on their unstructured text data.
The company will use the additional funding for research and development, expanding its scientific and engineering teams, and to grow its enterprise deployments.
“From talking to dozens of large organisations making high-stakes decisions, we’ve seen a clear pattern: teams are experimenting with AI for text analysis, but quickly hit a wall when outputs can’t be trusted or reproduced,” said Emily Kucharski, co-founder and chief executive, WholeSum. “This funding allows us to move faster in building infrastructure for robust analysis at scale.”
Bill Corfield, principal at Love Ventures, said: “Generic LLMs can’t deliver the consistent, reliable signals that high-trust industries need from unstructured data.
“We're delighted to be backing Emily and Adam as they scale across pharmaceuticals, financial services and beyond.”
The company is now rolling out pilots and enterprise integration for increasingly complex, large-scale datasets.
