US – Software-as-a-service consumer health company Welltok has launched a consumer data and predictive analytics platform, DataWise.
The service is based on data from a database of 275 million US consumers, including information on income, household composition and online presence.
It has been developed to supplement data traditionally held by health organisations, such as eligibility, claims and encounter data, and aims to help companies with objectives including acquiring new members, reducing re-admissions and improving Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) quality scores.
Phil Fiero, senior vice president of analytics and advanced technologies at Welltok, said: "Considering that people spend the majority of their lives outside of the healthcare system, it’s essential to leverage consumer data points – from voter status, property ownership and more – to understand members at a deeper level and help organisations more effectively target and personalise campaign efforts."
He added the platform would help organisations to "move from basic segmentation at the population level to identifying health needs, risks and target actions at the individual level".
