Walr names COO and CFO
Flower (pictured left) joins Walr from his role as COO at software-as-a-service company Platform One, where he spent around three-and-a-half years.
Seven years ago, Flower launched Viga with Lewis Reeves, founder and chief executive at Walr, which merged with Savanta in 2019.
Badar (pictured right) was previously finance director at flower delivery start-up Freddie’s Flowers, having been at the business for more than five years.
Walr co-founder Patrick Fraser is stepping back from day-to-day operations but will remain at the firm as a non-executive director.
The two new hires follow a number of other appointments at Walr in 2023, including Courtney Bergh as director of platform commercialisation, Penelope Bloom as head of enterprise sales and Lamia Lee as general manager of its Asia-Pacific operations,
Reeves said: “Freddie’s Flowers has always been an inspirational organisation to us at Walr; it was very similar in its early stages to Walr’s model.
“What Tariq was able to achieve there, particularly prior to funding, is incredibly impressive.”
Flower added: “The scope for the business to expand through its proprietary technology and excellent service model is particularly interesting to me – plus the chance to work closely with Lewis and his team once more.”
