UK – The National Centre for Social Research (NatCen) has appointed Sundari Anitha to its board of trustees.
Sundari Anitha (pictured) is professor of gender, violence and work at the University of Lincoln. Her research interests lie in two areas: the problem of violence against women and girls including domestic violence, forced marriage, sexual violence and gender-based violence in university communities; and gender, race and ethnicity in employment relations.
NatCen’s board of trustees support the organisation’s strategic plans and development.
Stuart Etherington, chair of NatCen’s board of trustees, said: “I am pleased to welcome Sundari Anitha to NatCen’s board of trustees. She brings valuable experience from her research on gender and violence, working in particularly sensitive areas, which provides an excellent addition to NatCen as the organisation continues to grow.”
In addition to her role at the University of Lincoln, Anitha is a trustee of Asha, an associate editor of the Women’s Studies International Forum, and serves on the editorial boards of Violence Against Women and British Journal of Criminology. She has previously managed a Women’s Aid refuge and was a member of the Research Excellence Framework 2021 Sociology sub panel.
