TNS awarded ‘€60m’ Flash Eurobarometer deal

UK— The European Commission and European Parliament have hired TNS to carry out the Flash Eurobarometer surveys, a four-year contract with a potential budget of €60m.

The Flash Eurobarometers are a series of ad hoc studies conducted on behalf of any of the European Commission’s and the European Parliament’s services to understand attitudes about key areas of interest.

TNS will start working on the contract immediately surveying specifically targeted groups such as B2B and elite audiences, as well as nationally representative samples.

Leendert de Voogd (pictured), the firm’s global head of political and social said: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with the European institutions. The European institutions understand the importance of undertaking research to develop deep insights, not only to support its decision making, but also to evaluate the progress of policies and inform communications strategy.”

TNS was of five companies that took part in an “extensive” tender process. The Flash Eurobarometer contract was previously held by The Gallup Organisation.
