US— Pope Ward has been named as executive director of The Demand Institute, the non-profit entity formed by Nielsen and The Conference Board to show how consumer demand is evolving round the world. The organisation has also hired Louise Keely (pictured) as chief research officer.
Ward was previously chair of the Office of Executive Councils and advisor to the US Chief Performance Officer at the Office of Management and Budget in Washington. Heely, meanwhile, was intellectual capital manager at The Cambridge Group, a Nielsen-owned firm.
At The Demand Institute she will be responsible for overseeing the organisation’s research and knowledge-building investments while Ward takes charge of membership programmes and operations.
