Study to explore class and race in the research industry
The research includes a nationally representative survey to understand the impact of intersectionality of class and ethnicity in the workplace, and a study to explore experiences and needs within the market research industry itself.
The initiative will conduct online interviews with individuals working in research, and is seeking representation from across the industry, including operations, agencies, independents and client-side.
Annabelle Phillips, co-chair of the MRS Social Equity Group, said: “The recent MRS survey ‘Who do we think we are?’ highlighted that our industry needs to do better for people at the intersection of working class and ethnicity. Not only does this drive success, it is important when we are representing the population in our work. We want to shine a spotlight on the lived experiences in our industry to drive change.”
