UK – Global intelligence platform Streetbees has appointed Omid Ashtari as chief operating officer (COO) and plans to expand the North American side of the business.

Ashtari (pictured) was formerly president and head of business at Citymapper and has been involved with Streetbees for the past four years as an investor, adviser and board member.

The company has also announced a 110% increase in revenue for the six months to 30 June 2020.

Streetbees said it will therefore increase staff numbers by 50% this year to approximately 130 and will also strengthen the North American side of the business.

The company is based in London, Chicago and New York, and runs the Streetbees app, which encourages its 3.5 million users to share moments from their daily lives which are then analysed via natural language processing technology.

As of July, Streetbees was also International Organisation for Standardisation accredited, meaning its data is compliant with best practice in maintenance, protection and processing.
