Research Live awards judges announced for 2023

UK – The 2023 judging panel for the Research Live awards, part of the MRS Awards, has been announced.

The judges of the Research Live awards decide on the winning entries for the awards, which will be announced at the MRS Awards ceremony on Monday 4th December.

The Research Live categories for 2023 are: agency of the year; best place to work; best new venture; business impact of the year (UK); business impact of the year (global); in-house team of the year; young researcher of the year (client), young researcher of the year (supplier) and innovation of the year.

Judging eight of the categories are:

  • Christina Finlay, director of data, analytics and customer insight, National Employment Savings Trust (Nest)
  • Catherine Haigh, head of consumer insight, EMEA at McCormick
  • James Holden, director of marketing and audiences, BBC Nations
  • Seema Hope, global head of consumer research, The Economist
  • Claire Rainey, head of insight, Virgin Media O2
  • Georgina White, director of customer experience and insight, Holland & Barrett

The judging panel is chaired by Katie McQuater, editor, Research Live and Impact.

The innovation of the year award is judged separately in a Dragon’s Den-style presentation session. Judging the award are:  

  • Harry Davies, vice-president of marketing investment and effectiveness, Sage
  • Claire Rainey, head of insight, Virgin Media 02
  • Jessica Salmon, head of customer value, BBC

Also on the panel are McQuater, and Liam Kay-McClean, deputy editor, Research Live and Impact.
