Rentrak sees media measurement revenue rise

US— The advanced media information (AMI) division at Rentrak saw a 17% increase in revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2012 – but group revenue was down 9% to $21.9m.

AMI houses Rentrak’s, TV Essentials, Box Office Essentials and OnDemand Essentials measurement services, which brought in $9.3m in revenue for the three months ended 30 September.

Within AMI, TV Essentials sales were up 63% to $2m and Box Office Essentials rose 17% to $5.2m, while OnDemand Essentials dipped 9% to $2.1m.

Rentrak’s home entertainment services revenue fell 22% to $12.6m.

CEO Bill Livek (pictured) said: “I am very proud of the product and sales progress we’ve made in our information businesses this quarter…The growth trajectory in our television business is accelerating as we attract new local stations, TV networks and advertising agency clients, while continuously building a strong pipeline of new clients.”
