UK— The UK co-founder and joint EMEA managing director of strategic research agency Penn Schoen & Berland Associates, Matt Carter, has been appointed CEO of UK operations at PR and communications firm Burson-Marsteller.
Both agencies are owned by WPP. Carter (pictured) will stay on with PSB as chairman of the EMEA region. Joel Levy, currently PSB’s joint MD for EMEA, will become the firm’s CEO for the region.
Burson-Marsteller’s CEO for the EMEA region, Jeremy Galbraith, said: “Under Matt’s leadership PSB EMEA has been one of the fastest growing WPP companies worldwide in recent years. I am convinced that his leadership skills and experience of working with the boards of leading international companies will allow him to replicate this success for Burson-Marsteller UK.”
Carter replaces Jonathan Jordan, who spent seven years with the firm and three as CEO and will now launch his own communications consultancy.
On Jordan, Galbraith said: “I would like to thank Jonathan for all that he has done as CEO of the UK operation, during which he has grown the business, attracted a strong team, strengthened our brand in the marketplace and won significant global assignments.”
