Priest named as next IPA president

People UK

UK — Ian Priest, the international MD of marketing services group Chime, has been nominated to become the next president of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA).

Priest was picked by the IPA Council to succeed Nicola Mendelsohn, chairman of Karmarama, whose two-year term ends in March.

Immediate-past president Rory Sutherland, vice-chairman of Ogilvy Group, led the selection process. He said of Priest: “Ian has many strengths to commend him. He has experience of a wide range of agency disciplines as well as huge entrepreneurial spirit. I’ve no doubt he will be a fantastic leader for the IPA and the industry.”

Priest co-founded ad agency VCCP in 2002. It became part of Chime in 2005, where Priest now heads new ventures and international expansion plans.
