US— Arbitron said today it has secured accreditation from the Media Rating Council (MRC) for its portable people meter-based (PPM) radio audience measurement services in 11 additional markets, but 34 remain unaccredited.
MRC, the industry’s measurement auditor, has signed off 14 out of a total of 48 PPM markets to date, along with an analysis tool for PPM data. The reasons services fail to be accredited are not disclosed.
Each market is submitted to an annual audit, Arbitron said. Gregg Lindner, Arbitron’s chief research officer, explained: “We will continue to work with the MRC with the goal of achieving accreditation for PPM radio ratings across all PPM markets.”
