The latest appointments and promotions in the global market research industry, including the latest from MarketTools, Arbitron, RDSI and more.

BEN LANGLEBEN has been appointed strategic client director at MarketTools in the UK. He joins the firm from RDSI where he was head of quantitative research.

Arbitron has announced a new board of directors. The eight members are: SHELLYE ARCHAMBEAU (MetricStream CEO), DAVID DEVONSHIRE (ex-Motorola), JOHN DIMLING (ex-Nielsen), PHILIP GUARASCIO (PG Ventures CEO), WILLIAM KERR (Arbitron CEO), LARRY KITTELBERGER (ex Honeywell International), LUIS NOGALES (managing partner, Nogales Investors) and RICHARD POST (ex Autobytel). They will all serve one year terms.

US healthcare marketing agency QualityHealth has appointed ELAINE BOXER as senior vice president of strategy and VIRGINIA EVANS as senior director of marketing analytics. Boxer joins from digital marketing agency Avenue A|Razorfish while Evans was previously at inVentiv Advance Insights.

RDSI in the UK has promoted LUKE CADMAN to research manager from senior research executive. The firm has appointed VICTORIA HENDERSON, who joins from Principals Research, and MATT DALTON, who has been on a gap year after graduating.

Former Omniture CEO GAIL ENNIS has joined the board of directors at data intelligence software company Karmasphere.

DEXTER COLE has been appointed vice president of programming at the Science Channel in the US. He rejoins the station after a spell as vice president of research at TV One.

SANDRA BAUMAN, president of Bauman Research & Consulting, will serve as the 2010-2011 president-elect of the New York chapter of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR).
