People on the move


The latest appointments and promotions in the global market research and consumer insight industry. This week: ODC Services, CMI, Market Probe, Blueocean, Discovery Research, Microsoft, Datran Media and Chadwick Martin Bailey.

German online fieldwork agency ODC Services has hired TOM MEYRITZ to expand its business in the UK. Meyritz has spent six years in the sector and held roles at Lightspeed Research and Ciao Surveys. ODC has also hired ARIANA SOMCUTEAN as junior product developer.

US full service research agency CMI has appointed JD WOODS as account manager in its client services team, where he will be responsible for managing key accounts in the insurance and telecoms sectors. He joins from Infosurv where he was senior research consultant. Before that he served as an account director at TNS.

VIRAAG AGNIHOTRI has been named managing director of India and Middle East/Africa operations at Market Probe. He was previously a vice president at Tata Consulting Services and has also served as executive director for TNS India during his 20-year research career.

Blueocean Market Intelligence in the US has appointed YUMNA JAWAD and KIRSTEN MARKSON as account managers. Jawad joins from SHR Perceptual Management and Markson was previously at Mercer Consulting.

MICHAEL WEBLEY has been promoted to research consultant at Discovery Research in the UK where he will focus on quant work in the FMCG, technology and retail sectors. Webley joined the company four years ago as a graduate trainee.

Microsoft has appointed JONATHAN HARDY as sales development director for Greater Asia-Pacific in its Advertising and Publishing Solutions business. He joins from Energy Media Networks, which he founded and managed, and Hardy has previously worked at DoubleClick and Time.

The World Federation of Advertisers has appointed CHRIS BURGGRAEVE as its new president. Burggraeve, who is chief marketing officer at Anheuser-Busch InBev, replaces Bernhard Glock in the role.

US digital marketing agency Datran Media has promoted ANDREW GRAF to chief operating officer and DENNIS SYRACUSE to chief marketing officer. Graf was previously an executive vice president and Syracuse was co-general manager of the media business, a role he will remain in alongside his new position.

DAN GERSTEN has been appointed as account director in the financial services practice at US research agency Chadwick Martin Bailey. He has previously worked at the Marketing Corporation of America and Lieberman Research Worldwide.
