Papagan out as Rentrak scraps president role

North America People

US— Media measurement firm Rentrak has scrapped the role of president, costing Ken Papagan his job, though the eight-year veteran of the company will stay on as a consultant for a short period.

Papagan’s responsibilities pass to Cathy Hetzel, president of Rentrak’s Advanced Media & Information division. He will serve as a consultant, reporting directly to CEO Bill Livek, during the transition period.

A corporate bio said Papagan was responsible for new business initiatives in cross-platform reporting.

His departure was disclosed in a regulatory filing and no further details were given as to the reasons why the president role was eliminated.

Papagan has been with the company since 2002. Before that he was global managing director of digital media solutions at internet consulting firm iXL and was a founding executive of nine television networks including Qube, Nickelodeon, MTV, The Movie Channel, ON TV, The Fashion Channel and the JCPenney Shopping Channel.
