Obituary: Sharon Rees

UK – Financial research expert Sharon Rees died peacefully on Saturday 27th February, following a short battle with cancer.

Prior to joining Charterhouse Research as a director six years ago, Sharon was at TNS (including Infratest Burke and NFO) for 11 years, latterly as group director, financial & professional Services.

Julie Irwin, managing director, Charterhouse Research said: “Sharon was a very professional, highly motivated, enthusiastic, much loved member of the Charterhouse Research team, all of whom feel privileged to have worked with her. She was highly valued and respected by her clients in banking, insurance and investment markets.”

She began her career in market research after graduating from Bath University with a degree in Modern Languages and European Studies.

She is survived by her husband Andy and her two young children Ffion and Laszlo.

Sharon Rees will be cremated at Croydon Crematorium at 2.15pm on Thursday 10 March. On Saturday 26 March there will be a Remembrance Party at St Mildred’s Church Hall, Sefton Road, Croydon CR0 7HS from 2.30 until 4.30 which will be a secular celebration of her life. On the afternoon of Thursday 31 March there will be a formal Christian service of remembrance as well as consecration of the ashes at Felinfoel church, Llanelli, South Wales. For anyone wishing to attend any of these please email Andy, andy@szebeni.co.uk, with your intentions, to help gauge numbers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Christopher’s (the hospice in which Sharon stayed for her final week) or to Cancer Research. Again contact andy@szebeni.co.uk if you wish to make a donation.
