US— Richard Hurst, senior vice president of Nielsen’s Beverage Alcohol division, has left the research business to become CEO of US wine merchant The Saint James Company.
He is no stranger to the alcohol trade having spent most of his career at Diageo, where he was senior vice president of corporate strategy.
During his three-year stint at Nielsen he was responsible for research across 150 suppliers and distributors of beer, wine and spirits. He joined Nielsen following the company’s acquisition of the Beverage Data Network in 2006.
