Asia Pacific New business

INDIA— The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has hired Nielsen to study the eating habits of schoolchildren as part of its plan to ensure that quality meals are served in schools.

Express India reports that Nielsen’s research on eating habits, along with a review of kitchen hygiene practices will be used to introduce new hygiene standards.

FSSAI’s research has found that there have been “several” reported cases of food poisoning in schools because of unhygienic food being served.
