Moldafsky (pictured) was previously chief marketing officer at Wells Fargo Bank for nine years, and has prior roles at American Express, Charles Schwab and Whirlpool Corp, where she was the general manager of KitchenAid.

In her new role, Moldafsky will help update Nielsen’s brand and product presence, and will run the integrated global function for Nielsen Global Media.

The appointment comes as the company prepares to sell its Global Connect division, which provides data for consumer packaged goods manufacturers and retailers, and split into two businesses, the other being Nielsen Global Media.

The sale of Global Connect to equity investor Advent International, in partnership with Jim Peck, former chief executive of TransUnion, is worth $2.7bn and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2021.

David Kenny, chief executive of Nielsen, said: “Jamie’s ability to apply best in class marketing solutions, engage in thought leadership and deploy successful strategies for reputation management will help us accelerate our partnerships with the industry and turbocharge the next era of Nielsen’s business.”
