ROMANIA— Nielsen has reportedly bought the remaining shares in Retailplus Eastern Europe, after acquiring a 51% stake in the company last year.
Local title Romania-Insider.com reports that Nielsen has bought the remaining shares from owner Octavian Badescu for an undisclosed amount.
Badescu formed the company, which specialises in measuring and monitoring the sales and marketing of products in the FMCG sector. Last year, it reported turnover of just over €1.5m and counts names including Coca-Cola, Unilever and Carlsberg on its client list.
The company has recently expanded its reach to cover Bulgaria, the former Yugoslavian countries and Albania. Nielsen was unavailable for comment.
