Oracle’s Jason Maynard joins Qualtrics as CEO

Maynard (pictured) replaces Zig Serafin, who stepped down last year after five years in post to take up a role as vice chairman and special adviser to the business.
Before joining Qualtrics, Maynard was executive vice-president of revenue operations at Oracle, which he joined in 2016 following the acquisition of NetSuite.
Prior to this, Maynard spent 15 years working as an analyst for firms such as Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse and Wells Fargo.
Maynard will also take up a position on Qualtrics’ board of directors. Jim Whitehurst and Mark Gillett, who served as interim co-chief executives, have returned to their roles on the Qualtrics board of directors, with Whitehurst continuing as executive chairman.
Whitehurst said: “Jason has scaled one of the most successful cloud businesses, built products customers depend on, and has a sharp perspective on where AI is taking our industry. That’s a powerful combination that will take Qualtrics, our category and the value we deliver to customers to the next level.”
Ryan Smith, co-founder at Qualtrics, added: “I’m incredibly excited to support Jason as he leads Qualtrics in this next phase. Jason’s background, market experience and ability to lead out in new trends is critical for where the technology ecosystem and Qualtrics are going.”
