MRS launches industry think tank

News UK

UK — The Market Research Society (MRS) has launched a think tank to research and investigate current business and public interest issues.

The MRS Delphi Group is led by a collection of “high-level thinkers” in the marketing and research sectors, including directors from BT, GfK and TNS, and will examine a range of issues, from the contribution of research to UK PLC and the public and commercial perceptions of privacy, to the state of democracy in the UK.

The group will publish research on up to three industry and public issues a year and the first report, ‘From commercial to creative capital’, will focus on the wider impact of research in the UK.

CEO of MRS Jane Frost said: “In any client project, huge amounts of ancillary knowledge is created and we want to tap into that and pull together the tremendous intellectual capital and creative power that exists within our sector.”

The MRS Delphi Group steering committe members are:

  • Nick Baker, managing director, Quadrangle, and chair of the Delphi Group
  • Clare Fuller, director, Promise Corporation
  • Caroline Plumb, CEO, Freshminds Research
  • Phil Sutcliffe, director, TNS
  • Colin Strong, MD, GfK Business and Technology Division
  • Suzi Williams, marketing director, BT
  • Jane Frost, CEO of MRS
