Merger for SpotRight and Spot Influence

US— Social media intelligence firm SpotRight has merged with social data and analytics agency Spot Influence.

The SpotRight platform creates a social identity of a company’s customers by gathering information from sources including the social web and marketing databases, while Spot Influence measures a consumer’s affinity with a brand.

Together, the two firms will operate under the SpotRight name.

Dave Angulo (pictured), CEO of Spot Influence and now CTO of SpotRight said: “Spot Influence provides a perfect complement to the SpotRight platform by discovering and analysing web content for meaningful signals that establish a consumer’s reach, relevance and impact in categories important to a brand. Our unified platform will provide brands with social data and insight through a web application and an API.”

As well as announcing the merger, SpotRight has closed $1m in funding from Grotch Ventures, Access Venture Partners and FPP Holdings which will be used to accelerate growth.
