CANADA— Members of opinion polling body the Gallup International Association (GIA) and the Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research (WIN) have voted in favour of merging the two organisations.
The boards of both bodies revealed plans for the merger last week and members were given the opportunity to vote during a conference in Austria, which finished today.
WIN Network president Jean-Marc Lèger (pictured) said that members voted “unanimously” in favour of the deal and that he had been elected president of the combined association.
The new entity will operate as the Gallup International Association/WIN Network for at least 12 months before deciding whether to rename itself, said Lèger.
